Managment Team for 2009.  Kieran O'Shea, Martin O'Rourke and Sean Farrell

 This year the squad is in the capable hands of Kieran O'Shea, Martin O'Rourke and Sean Farrell.  We would like to welcome the new faces to the fold and hope that 2009 will be a great sporting year for the club.

Last years season did not go as well as we would have hoped, but this is hoped to be rectified this year and go the one step further to the final this year under the hands of the above lads.  With a strong team last year and so far looking strong this year we hope the lads can give the commitment and lift the cup this year its without a doubt in our reach.

With the lads having a good league campagin so far this season and collecting full points on the first 6 league matches it was going to be a tough match against the lads next opposition Knockananna who also had collected full points in all their matches to date.  Unfortunately things did not go according to plan for the lads on this this occasion and were defeated on a score line of 0-10 to Knockananna's 1-11.  The Tinahely lads went on to win their next 2 matches against Aughrim and Barndarrig and were hoping for a slip up by knockananna against Carnew to top the league but Knockananna held on by a point on that occasion.  Not all was lost however because the top two teams played out a final for the league and unfortunately with Tinahely forced to field a weaker team Knockananna held on to claim the Junior B league.

In the championship Tinahely played Lacken on Sunday 22nd but the lads were dissappointed again.  A very strong and determined Lacken came away with victory on a score line 2-11 to Tinahely 0-6.  With Tinahely missing yet again another few strong players to the Senior panel it was always going to be tough so unfortunately the lads are out of the championship for 2009 due to the championship being based on a knockout.  Hard luck lads!!
