Tinahely Juvenile GAA Academy
Tinahely Juvenile GAA Academy returns on Saturday 18th April 2009 at 11 a.m.
The Academy training is held every Saturday morning (excluding Bank Holidays) from 11-12 o'clock at Tinahely football pitch. The Academy 2009 training season runs from 18th April to 17th October.
We cater for boys and girls, aged 5 and over, who want to learn the basic skills of football and are not involved in a football team. We train children on the "ABC Have a Ball Nursery Programme". This programme is designed to improve children's agility, balance and co-ordination skills, moving on then to the basic skills and rules of the game.
At the beginning of each season, children are asked to affiliate with the juvenile club at a cost of 5 euro per family per year, to cover insurance. There is also a weekly fee of 2 euro per child, which goes towards buying/updating sports equipment and the end of season awards ceremony.
Children should check in with the co-ordinator at the beginning of each session. Please ensure that we have an emergency contact number and notify us if the emergency contact number changes. In the interest of children’s safety, they must be collected at the top of the steps at 12 noon. On wet days the collection point will be at the door of the community hall.
If your child would like to learn the basis skills of football, have some fun and make new friends, come along and see us any Saturday morning. All enquiries to Olive at 087 7534230.
P.S. Any parent/guardian who would be interested in helping out any Saturday for an hour (11-12), don’t be shy about coming forward, help is always needed.
