Welcome to the Tinahely Juvenile U-10 Homepage. The U-10 squad are being trained for the 2008 season by Jim Lillis and Rory Stokes. Training takes place every Tuesday evening from 5-6pm at the football field. To date this season there has been a good turnout at training where the children practice their skills, shooting and basic drills.
The U-10's have taken part in the scheduled Go Games fixtures against the following teams : Coolkenno, Shillelagh, Carnew and Coolboy. Commencing 28th June 2008 there will be a Go Games Blitz each month until October for the U-10 team. The fixtures are County wide and will be hosted each month by different clubs. The host clubs and dates where Tinahely U-10's will play are listed in the fixtures below. These games will give an opportunity to play against other clubs from all over Co Wicklow which can only improve our players. Fixtures for our Friday evening games will also be posted to the web page once they become available.

The squad took part in the Guard of Honour to welcome the GAA President Nicky Brennan on the Friday night (27 June) of the official opening of the new clubhouse along with the other Juvenile players. The following day (28 June) the squad played an exhibition match among themselves to display the skills they have learned over the past few years.
Training has continued over the past number of weeks on Tuesday evening between 5 and 6pm. It is important to attend training as well as the organised matches so we can develop our skills and fitness.
Some matches have also recommenced and the squad is taking part in a blitz organised by the Rathvilly GAA Club. The Blitz involves four clubs (Rathvilly, Ballon, Fenagh and Tinahely) and is 15 a side. The first match was played last Tuesday evening (15 July) in Ballon against the home team and Tinahely were victorious putting in a strong performance overall especially in the second half against the wind.
The following evening (16 July) the squad travelled to Aughrim to play a challenge game. Although we had a full squad Aughrim could only field ten players so we had to adjust the numbers accordingly. All players got a run out and Aughrim have agreed to return the favour over the coming weeks. The game was enjoyed by all. Thanks to Willie Furlong for assisting on the night.
