The Ladies have reached their first ever Junior A Fianl within the club by defeating St Pats on what was a great evening in Arklow/Ballymoney pitch. St Pats were first off on the score sheet followed very quickly by Tinahely's at the other end of the field. The game was tight for the opening 20 minutes but Tinahely found second wind in the forward line and enjoyed majority of the possession for the next 10 minutes where they took there scores well. Tinahely went in at half time 10 points up mainly due to 2 great goals by Loretta Gilbert and Lucy Mulhall. The ladies then started the 2nd half well but it was not until a conterversal goal was scored by St Pats, where one umpire called for a goal and the other didnt. The ref gave the goal and brought Pats back into the game where they then knocked over another 2 points. Tinahely were feeling the pressure of St Pats in the back line but there was no way the Tinahely defence were letting another goal. Pressure was on for the Ladies with Jackie Kinch trecking back from midfield to clear 2 chances of a goal off the line and also Deirdre Healy and Bridget Kenny with some fine blocks. Lorraine Dunne with Lucy Mulhall had a fine day infront of goal and all in all I think Tinahely came out desereved winners. Final score 2-13 to 2-9
Scorers on the Day Lorraine Dunne 0-6, Lucy Mulhall 1-3, Lorretta Gilbert 1-1, Laura Hogan, Jackie Kinch and Linda Murphy 0-1 each.
