Tinahely Ladies had their first home game of the season against St Pat's of Wicklow Town. These two sides have met a couple of times of the last 2 years at a netural venue with St Pats coming out on top but the Ladies were determined to change this on what was a bitter afternoon in Tinahely. The Ladies were on home soil and went out with the intention of nothing more than a victory. In the opening 5 minutes things looked bleak for the ladies as St Pats registered 1.1 in the opening few minutes. This was a major wake up call for the ladies and they all dug deep. With the defence tightening up and both Deirdre Healy and Bridget Kenny making some fine blocks to denie St Pats a way through. L Hogan got the scoring for Tinahely going with a quick goal. The Tinahely forward line traded scores as did St Pats at the other end and at half time Tinahely went in trailing by a point but had the advantage in the second half of a strong breeze on a score line of 3.2 to 3.3. Once again the Tinahely Ladies went for every ball and were not giving anything up without a fight. With Tinahely having most of the possession in the second half St Pats only registered 3 points 2 from frees. While at the other end some fine scores were registered by Tinahely with a tally of 3.8 to bring the match to a close with the final score 6.10 to 3.6.
