Príomh-Onóracha
Ba ea an buaicphointe ná 16ú Meán Fómhair, 1984 nuair a bhí an lá le Tigh na hÉille i gCluiche Ceannais de Chraobh Peile Sinsir an Chontae don chéad uair riamh ón bhúnú an Saorstát i 1922. D'imir siad le bród agus le paisean dona gClub agus d'imir siad i gCluiche Ceannais Peile Sinsir Laighin i Nollag, 1984, an chéad cumann ó Chill Mhantáin a ghlac páirt ann. Mise Cathaoirleach ag an t-am sin agus is maith is cuimhin liom na laethanta seo.
One of our historic highlights was 16th September 1984 when Tinahely won the Wicklow Senior Championship for the first time since the foundation of the State in 1922. It was a powerful game and they reached the Leinster Club Finals in December 1984, the first Wicklow club to do this.
I was chairman at the time and I well remember all the excitement. Dwyers Square had bonfires lighting up the sky that night. Video has just become available - the match was taped so that we all watched it over and over again in the town, re-living the great moments. The national press and the Sunday papers took a keen interest in the Club and the great Con Houlihan from the Evening Press wrote a long article on us. Special buses to the Leinster Final in Newbridge were packed with supporters.
I gCraobh Peile Idirmheánach, bhí an bua ag Tigh na hÉille ar Baile Mainis i 2005.
Bhuaigh Tigh na hÉille Craobh na Sóisear A ar Ladhrach i 1969 agus an Craobh (B) arís i 1981.
Bhuaigh Seosamh O Cleirigh Joe Cleary Cluiche Ceannais Liathróid Láimhe Sinsear na hÉireann i 1969. Ni dhéanfaidh mé dearmad ar an gcluiche seo.
Tinahely GAA won the Intermediate Championshipagainst Ballymanus in 2005.
The Junior A team beat Laragh in 1969 in the Championship Final and the Junior Bs won the Championship in 1981. Joe Cleary won the All-Ireland Handball Championhip in 1969. I will never forget that match.
Bhí an clubthreach oscailte go h-oifigiúil ag an Uachtarán CLG i mbliana. Tá na haiseanna spóirt níos fearr anois le giom nua-aimseartha. Táimid moralach go bhfuil aiseanna den scoth curtha ar fáil do na h-imreoirí.
The clubhouse was officially opened by the President of the GAA earlier this year. Our sporting facilities have much improved with a state-of-the-art gym. We're delighted to have these new facilities available to the players. I was on the organising committee when the sports field was officially opened in May 1978. Killaveney Parish donated the field to the GAA in 1973 after the great Under-12 Co Championship win in 1972. The cost at that time was 7,000 pounds compared to 500,000 euro for the clubhouse.
Comhghairdeas
Déanaim comhghairdeas le gach foireann. Bhuaigh an fhoireann sinsear an Corn Keating i 2007. Bhuaigh an cumann Craobh Faoi 12B agus Craobh Faoi 14C Condae Chill Mhantáin i 2007 agus bhuaigh Luke O'Tooles (Tigh na hÉille, Eachroim, Annacurra) an Shield Faoi 16A agus Shield na Mionúr A i 2007. Is beag buachaill na cailín sa cheantar nach n-imríonn peil Ghaelach. Agus fáilte chuig cumann na mban i 2007.
I wish to congratulate all our teams. The seniors won the Keating trophy in 2007. The U-12Bs and U-14C won Co Championships last year. The Luke O'Tooles (Tinahely, Aughrim, Annacurra) won the U-16A and Minor Shields in 2007. I also want to welcome the ladies section to the club.
Buíochas
Ta buíochas tuillte ag achan duine a bíonn ag cuidiú lá ar bith a bhíonn cluiche ar siúl - na stiúrthoirí na nimeachtaí, na bainisteorí, na maoir a chintíonn sábháilteacht agus iad siúd ag na geaftaí. Chomh maith leis sin, gabhaimid buíochas fosta lena daoine gnó agus na tabharthoirí a thug urraíocht duinn.
Guím suaimhneas na bhflaitheas ar ár n-imreoirí, ár gcairde agus ár ngaolta a fuair bás i rith na blianta.
I wish to thank everyone who has helped the Club - the mentors, the trainers who have looked after the safety of our players. As well as that, we are grateful to the local businesses and others who have sponsored us.
We remember our players, friends and relatives who have died over the years. We hope to have an annual memorial Mass beginning in September.
Mar críoch, ta súil againn go mbainfidh tú taitneamh as do chuairt agus go gcuirfidh tú scéal chugainn. Bheadh ard- áthas orainn bualadh le cairde nua.
I hope you have enjoyed your visit to our website and that you will send us a message on our guestbook.
Beir bua agus beannacht
Pat Doyle
